The web content team member will be responsible for various aspects of website content for the established website. He/she will aid in the development, maintenance, collection, and coordination of website content. He/she will be adding detailed data to website product pages, manipulating images, and maintaining content while ensuring that approvals and postings are completed within deadlines. He/she will be required to format raw content materials into website-ready content, including some design and basic copy editing of text. The web content team member will have input for website structure and overall functionality. Strong writing skills are required. The ability to assist with general technical support within the department is also required. Work will be in conjunction with the operational team and the marketing team and outside webmaster/web maintenance company.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building new product pages on an existing platform by Inputting product data including descriptions, barcodes and stock information onto the platform.
Correcting old product pages on an existing platform by inputting product data including descriptions, barcodes and stock information onto the platform.
Merging of existing pages and updating the home page under instruction of the marketing team.
Photographing and preparation of product images for web publishing.
Update and maintain site and correct errors.
Setting up the monthly SALE page and preparing product pages
Editing pricing when necessary.
Aid in creating new website when necessary.
Administer and maintain product page database.
Work with Marketing department to gather content for the website—images, texts, etc.
Research and work with Web team and Marketing department on gathering extensive information on fine art products and supplies to augment existing product pages.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
Strong planning and organisational skills
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain focus on large amounts of data capturing
Strong Computer Literacy
Familiarity with front end website design will be a bonus
Proficiency with Adobe Software Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop
Excellent team working skills
Ability to prioritize responsibilities
Comfortable within a fast-paced small department
Willingness to learn and take on new tasks as the need arises
Professional and pleasant demeanor when interacting with company personnel or other business-related personnel
Knowledge of Windows platforms
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The ideal candidate will have relevant work/internship experience as a website assistant or designer or basic graphic design experience to assist in the visual area of the position.
