OVERVIEW
Suiderland Plase is a grower, packer and exporter of fresh fruit (citrus and table grapes) in South Africa. Our production units are situated across the Western Cape, with our head office in Bellville near Cape Town. The company has a vacancy for a food safety coordinator at Wespak, a table grape and citrus pack house in Clanwilliam. The position will report to the pack house manager and is available immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Audits: BRC, TMPS, SIZA, and other client specific audits
Ensure that the food safety management systems operate effectively
Conduct internal audits according to schedule
Facilitate all 3rd party inspections and or audits at site
Follow up and implement corrective actions and clarify non conformities
Coordinate training: Food safety, HACCP, etc.
Manage the SQA approval and monitoring program for suppliers (produce, packaging, chemicals, cleaning chemicals etc.) and contract service providers (lab, transport, pest control) as per food safety management system.
Ensure that health and safety systems are being maintained.

JOB REQUIREMENT

Matric with a relevant qualification
2 to 3 years’ experience in a food safety environment
Computer literate (Excel advanced & MS office)
Valid drivers’ license
