Fine Chemicals Corporation requires the services of a highly competent Consumables Buyer for the Supply Chain Department. To qualify for this position the most suitable candidate must fulfill the following requirements:

JOB FUNCTIONS (Brief Summary):
Ensure optimum stock levels of stationery is maintained in line with internal customer requirements
Obtaining quotations for non-production spend items where required
Generate purchase orders from requisitions for non-production spend consumables, reference standards, indirect non-stock consumables, indirect operating expenses, indirect travel, PPE, and Q-codes.
Monitor and report on requisitions in process
Optimisation of fast-moving stock items without causing stock-outs
Follow up on outstanding orders and ensure timeous delivery of orders
Adhoc administrative duties
Ensure compliance to the company affirmative procurement strategy where possible
Meet affirmative procurement spend target
Ensure all sections within the department maintain compliance to company OHSE standards and GMP standards

Must understand GMP, FDA and EU regulations

Excellent interpersonal skills and supplier relations

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Educational Qualification Grade 12 or an Equivalent Qualification as per the National Qualifications Framework (NQF) or RPL (Recognition for Prior Learning) as per SAQA recognition would also be considered.
A minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience in the chemical/manufacturing / pharmaceutical industry
A tertiary qualification in Supply Chain would be advantageous
SAP experience would be an added advantage
Must possess thorough knowledge and understanding (local and international) of the procurement and purchasing process within the manufacturing environment, i.e., chemical and/or pharmaceutical would be beneficial.
