About the opportunity

The Assistant Accountant will provide support to the Finance Business Partner and wider finance team by helping to prepare store
banking reconciliations, Retail Operations reporting and month-end journals.
Assistant Accountants are also a key member of the finance team who are responsible for the finalisation of month-end and yearend
accounts.

The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for:

Daily Banking Functions & reporting

• Daily Banking reconciliations for stores
• Daily Missed banking reporting
• Weekly Cash variance reporting
• Variance investigations and leasing with Loss Prevention team
• Weekly Petty Cash expenditure reporting
• Weekly upload of bank statement into Oracle
• Weekly AP payment reconciliations in Oracle
• Monthly Gift voucher liability reconciliations and reporting

Month-end functions & reporting

• Monthly Sales reconciliations (Futura vs. Oracle journals)
• Monthly Bank account reconciliations
• Monthly till difference journals
• Monthly cash-in-transit reconciliations and accounting
• Monthly Cash Clearing account reconciliations
• Monthly Centre Voucher liability reconciliations
• Monthly Turnover reporting

Reporting

• Daily Sales reporting
• Weekly Sales reporting
• Back-up for any other Retail reporting

Daily Zendesk ticket management

Daily Finance Support inbox management

Annual Sales audit certificate preparations and reconciliations

Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required

Skills required:

• An understanding of accounting principles and best practice finance systems.
• Intermediate Excel skills
• Oracle Fusion experience mandatory
• 2 years’ experience in a similar role
• Proven ability to plan, organise and deliver results on time in a fast-paced environment
